In the second half of 2013/14 MY sunflower oil exports from the Black Sea countries to break the record
According to the forecasts, in the second half of 2013/14 MY (April-September) the shipment volumes of sunflower oil from the key countries-exporters will significantly increase, and reach 2.78 mln tonnes, against 2.05 mln tonnes in the same period of the previous year.
Growing of the reporting indices will happen at the expense of the Black Sea countries. In particular, in the second half of the season Ukraine will supply 1.89 mln tonnes (1.34 mln tonnes) of the commodity on the world market, and Russia - 0.71 mln tonnes (0.46 mln tonnes), which is the record for both countries.
Increasing of sunflower oil production will cause the same growth of its exports from the Black Sea region. So, in April-September in Ukraine the index is expected to reach 1.97 mln tonnes (1.26 mln tonnes), in Russia - 1.62 mln tonnes (1.36 mln tonnes), due to the high harvest volumes of sunflower seed in both countries.
