Ukraine: agrarians reduced the planted areas of winter barley and rye for the harvest-2013

According to the polling, conducted by experts of APK-Inform Agency, many agricultural producers of Ukraine reported about decreasing of the planted areas of winter barley and rye for the harvest-2013 by nearly 20-50%. Rather low profitability of agricultural producers in the production of those crops is called as the main reason for such trend development. Besides, according to market participants, the risks associated with weather conditions became another important factor. In addition, the majority of the respondents informed about own plans to increase the areas under maize and sunflower seed, due to the high profitability of these crops growing.
