Ukrainian agrarians have to get constant access to the modern seed varieties – expert

In order to consolidate the positions among the leading countries-exporters of grains, Ukraine should provide the regular access of agrarians to modern crop varieties, with the necessary economic-useful features, and their seed materials with high planting and varietal characteristics, declared Vladimir Moroz, Deputy Director on seeds of Agrofarmahim Ltd.

At the same time, he noted that the current needs of Ukrainian agricultural households for wheat and barley are almost entirely covered by the domestic production of seeds, and maize production – imports cover 35-40% of the needs.

V.Moroz will provide more detailed information about the current condition and trends of development of the market of seeds in Ukraine in his report at the III International Conference "AgroResurcy -2013: ways of increase of agroindustrial profitability" (February 12, Kiev), organized by APK-Inform Agency.
