FAO to report about development of the market of oilseeds in Morocco at the International Trading Summit: Grains & Oilseeds 2013

According to the international experts, Morocco is steadily increasing the import volumes of oilseeds, such as sunflower seed and soybeans. According to the estimations of the USDA, during recent three seasons the imports of sunflower seed to Morocco have totaled nearly 180 thsd tonnes, including 18 thsd tonnes in 2011/12 MY. In the season-2012/13 it is forecasted to increase to 40 thsd tonnes.

As for soybeans imports, in 2009/10-2011/12 MY, the country purchased nearly 360 thsd tonnes of the oilseed on the foreign markets, including 76 thsd tonnes in the season-2011/12.

The representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will provide more detailed information on development of the market of oilseeds in Morocco within the Eighth International Trading Summit: Grains & Oilseeds 2013 (March 6-7, Casablanca, Morocco).
