In 2013/14 MY Ukraine may supply nearly 400 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil to China – forecast
According to analysts of APK-Inform Agency, during recent 3 seasons the exports of sunflower oil from Ukraine to China increased in over 27 times - from 10.3 thsd tonnes in 2010/11 MY, to 286 thsd tonnes in the season 2012/13.
In 2013/14 MY the trend of exports growth in the reporting direction will continue developing. During the first 3 months of 2013/14 MY Ukraine already shipped 158.7 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil to China, against 35.3 thsd tonnes in the same period last season.
Taking into account the expected growth of sunflower oil production in Ukraine (to 4.2 mln tonnes) in the current MY, and increasing of the export potential to 3.7 mln tonnes, and also the increased demand from China for the Ukrainian product, the Agency's analysts forecast that by the end of the current season China may import nearly 330-400 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil of Ukrainian origin.
