In 2013 Ukraine increased flour exports to China in 34 times
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in January-November period of 2013 the country exported 185.5 thsd tonnes of wheat and wheat-rye flour at the general sum of 62.4 mln USD, an increase of 1.3 times compared with the same period in 2012 (138.5 thsd tonnes at 44.5 mln USD). During 11 months of 2013 Ukraine supplied nearly 13% of the exported flour volumes to China, which in absolute terms totaled 23.6 thsd tonnes at the sum of over 8 mln USD. In the same period of 2012 Ukraine supplied 695 tonnes of flour to China at the sum of 191.1 thsd tonnes, down 34 times compared with the reporting volume of sales, and down 42 times - by sales revenue.
We should note increasing of the exports of Ukrainian flour to Hong Kong in the reporting period. If during 11 months of 2012 Ukraine supplied 175 kg of flour only to the administrative district, then in 2013 the index rose to 184.3 tonnes. In 2013 the revenues from flour sale to Hong Kong totaled 55.5 thsd USD.
Thus, the Asian region is becoming the perspective market not only for Ukrainian agricultural raw materials, but also for its by-products. According to analysts of APK-Inform Agency, in terms of the significant increasing of grain production in Ukraine and the need to expand sale markets, it is useful to rise the domestic grain processing capacities and export sales of higher value-added products, which will assist to stabilize the commodity prices on the domestic market, and provide additional inflow of investments to the grain processing industry.
