APK-Inform Agency announces about holding of the second international conference "Ukrainian soybean market - 2014", which will focus on the market of soybeans, and take place in Odessa on June 18-19, 2014. The National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, the Ukrainian soybean association and Ukroliyaprom provide its support to the conference event.

The drastic development of soybean market in Ukraine during recent five years once again underlines the relevance of the new conference holding. The rates of development of the Ukrainian market of soybeans were truly stunning, and the success of Ukrainian soybeans on the world market is quite impressive. During several years the Ukrainian soybean market made a strong shoot forward: soybean production volumes in Ukraine increased to 2.7 mln tonnes, at the same time in the current season increasing of the average yield to 2.03 t/ha (against 1.71 t/ha in the season-2012/13) mainly caused the growth of the harvest volumes. Primarily a fairly high level of agricultural production became the main determining factor, which allows achieving high yield indices. Despite the fact that along with increasing of the production volumes, and growing of soybean processing volumes, the Ukrainian soybean market continues developing as the export-oriented industry.

If in 2009/10 MY, Ukraine exported nearly 263 thsd tonnes of soybeans, in the season-2012/13 the index already reached 1.32 mln tonnes. It should be noted that in the current season-2013/14 according to forecasts of analysts APK-Inform Agency, Ukraine will export nearly 1.38 mln tonnes of the oilseed.

According to estimations of APK-Inform Agency, in the current year Ukrainian enterprises will process nearly 950 thsd tonnes of soybeans, while the production of soybean meal (cake) and soybean oil will increase to 726.7 thsd tonnes and 145 thsd tonnes, respectively. Nevertheless, the demand for soybean by-products of Ukrainian origin on the domestic market is still dominant, despite the growth of export indices.

However, taking into account the growth of export indices of soybeans and its by-products, domestic oilseed processors may face the deficit of raw material proposals in general, and the required qualitative indicies in particular.

The conference will consider these and other pressing issues of the soybean market, faced by domestic producers, processors and traders of the oilseed, and all possible ways of solutions.
