To date the bioenergy sector in Ukraine actually displaces nearly 1.67 bln cu. meters of natural gas per year, while the Government adopted the plan of actions in the energy sector by 2020 to increase the index to 7.2 bln cu. meters per year, declared Tatyana Zheleznaya, Member of the expert council of Bioenergetic Association of Ukraine, on November 25 in Kiev during her report at the Second round of the V Ukrainian Grain Congress.
The reporting strategy requires top priority working out of the action plan for the most rapid development and expansion of the production of boilers with solid fuels, including the fuel from wastes of agricultural production, said the expert.
According to T.Zheleznaya, to date Ukraine is the most favorable country for development of the bioenergy sector during all years of independence.
However, there should be noted a number of existing barriers to effective development of the industry. Thus, there is required development and establishment of a set of measures and legal acts to stimulate the bioenergy sector in Ukraine, the expert said.
