According to the January estimations of the USDA, in 2014/15 MY the world production and exports of sunflower oil will reduce. Thus, the production of sunflower oil in the world will total 15.3 mln tonnes, down 495 thsd tonnes (or 3%) compared with the previous season. The export supplies of sunflower oil will reduce by 481 thsd tonnes or down 7% compared with last season - to 6.7 mln tonnes.
At the same time, the share of Ukraine in the world production of sunflower oil will remain almost unchanged - 28% or 4.3 mln tonnes, and the exports will increase to 3.7 mln tonnes, or 56% of the general world trade, against 54% in 2013/14 MY. Such indices will allow to Ukraine to keep the first position in the rating of world producers and exporters of the reporting commodity.
