Danvers, Mass., May 13, 2014 – HighQuest Group today announced that Jim Borel, executive vice president of DuPont, will deliver the keynote address at its 9th annual Oilseed & Grain Trade Summit. The three-day event will be held this year October 7-9 in New Orleans, La., at the Hyatt Regency.

More than 600 industry experts are expected to convene at the Summit to explore the most pressing challenges facing the oilseed, protein meals, vegetable oils and grain sectors, and forecast market trends to come.

"We are delighted that Mr. Borel will deliver the keynote address at the upcoming 9th annual Oilseed & Grain Trade Summit," said Philippe de Lapérouse, chairman of the event. "His insights and perspective regarding the impact of changing trade policy and shifts in international trade flows in agricultural commodities on global food security will provide significant value for all attendees at the Summit."

During Borel’s presentation entitled The Impact of International Trade on Global Food Security, which he will deliver on Wednesday morning, October 8, he will discuss the impact that international trade, food and regulatory policies are having on global food security. He will share insights about how governments, the private sector and industry organizations can collaborate to promote sound import and export policies and regulatory frameworks that will accelerate the introduction of technology to improve agricultural productivity, particularly in food insecure regions of the world.

Borel’s career with DuPont spans more than 35 years. Prior to assuming his current responsibilities in 2009, Borel was group vice president, responsible for the agricultural businesses of DuPont. In 2004, he was named senior vice president for DuPont Human Resources. Before this, he was global vice president and general manager for DuPont Crop Protection. From 1981 until 1997, Borel held a variety of business and operations management positions in agricultural products with DuPont in the U.S., UK, Canada and Japan. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in agricultural business.

Borel also serves on the board of trustees of National 4-H Council, the Farm Foundation and the University of Delaware; and serves on the board of directors of CropLife International and the Grocery Manufacturers Association.

The 9th annual Oilseed & Grain Trade Summit, hosted by HighQuest Group with participation from Informa Economics, is the largest annual industry event that convenes buyers, sellers, and global leaders in the oilseed, protein meals, vegetable oils, and feed grains sectors. The agenda addresses strategies that will ensure sustainable growth in agricultural production, new processing technologies, transportation challenges, and developing trends in the commodity, food, biofuels and animal feed sectors.

Delegates will have an opportunity to share the latest information on the oilseed and feed grains markets and network with their peers and existing and prospective new clients and broaden their competitive edge. Attendees at previous Summits have hailed from around the world – the 2013 event in Minneapolis, Minn., hosted nearly 650 attendees from 30 U.S. states and 25 countries, and included 75 exhibitors.
