In Ukraine, the market of pesticides and agrichemicals is actively developing, thus the list of the products aimed at increasing the crops is increasing from year to year. Nevertheless, far from anyone of producers and traders are ready to provide advisory support for agrarians on a regular basis, together with offering the most dedicated conditions of payment for the products. Taking into account the importance of early identification of problems of the sprouts and CPP measures, we decided to consult with the Director of commercial department at UKRAVIT Agro LLC, Alexander Lapa.
- To date it is the most active period for Ukrainian agrarians, as it is necessary not only to plant spring crops in time and in full, but also to provide the comprehensive list of activities of apply additional nutritions and treatment to crop sprouts, including winter crops. Taking into account that Your company is the leader among the domestic producers of fertilizers and CPP, tell us, please, what should agrarians pay the prior attention to?
First, they should pay the main attention to the protection of spiked cereal (winter) crops from a number of pests and diseases. One of the most pressing issue is the speckled leaf blotch, tan spot and leaf, and spike fusarium control that need to be treated by the fungicides Akula, Ayaks, Kapital by the recommended dozes. The diseases such as grain thrips, chinch bug, cereal chafer should be sprayed by Anticolorad Max, Fas, Antigusin or Chlorpirivid-agro. Moreover, during this period it is important to provide leaf fertilizing by microfertilizers. If we speak about the crop such as sunflower seed (classic, the hybrids resistant to imidazolinone and tribenuron-methyl), it is necessary to monitor the detection of sprout pests and to take appropriated protections measures – to spray by insecticides.
Apart from the pests monitoring, it is highly important to control the weed estimation of sunflower seed, corn, soybeans, sugar beet, etc. Ukravit has a wide range of herbicides depending on the preceding crop, growing region, weed species richness, crop growth stage. Also, you should pay attention to such products as Flagman Extra for soybeans, Miladar Duo for the corn weed elimination, and Gold Star, Vitalight and Imi-Vit for the appropriate sunflower hybrids.
- The use of high-quality microfertilizers is one of the essential way to get the high crop. Could You tell us about the lineup of products of Ukravit? What would You recommend to use for the spring crops campaign?

- In order to have high crops, agrarians should work hard and pay heavy finances for materials and resources. Thus, taking into account a large number of fake weedkillers and agrochemicals, the main issues is the choice of the reliable seller, who should become the liable partner and help not only to choose the product, but also to consult agrarians during the season. How do You work with agrarians?
Unfortunately, many farmers buy fake weedkillers, which results in both financial and crop loses. In order to prevent such situation, agrarians should work with the authorized distributor-companies. The list of such companies is available at the companies’ web sites. If there are any doubts, agrarians can apply to the regional managers of Ukravit. - The increase of the production profitability depends on the effectiveness of fertilizers and their cost. Would You disprove the claim – if expensive means quality, thus it is justified?
Until recently, everybody believed that an expensive product has a high effectiveness. But, Ukravit disprove this stereotype. Because, every year there is more and more agrarians (not only Ukrainian) who become our clients and recognize the high effectiveness of our products together with their reasonable price. However, if you have received an offer for the quite cheap product you should think twice as it might be a fake. That is why you should buy the pesticides and the agrichemicals from the certified distributors or dealers, as it is a guarantee to get the original product.
- What payment scheme do You work with? Do You work with barter transactions?
Ukravit offers agrarians the program of the commodities procurements on account of counter and forward deliveries. The farmer determines the sum, conditions and the terms of buying of the Ukravit products. On the other side, Ukravit contracts with the agriproducers on the counter or forward delivery. The programs include such commodities as corn, barley, wheat, and for the counter deliveries – sugar. Moreover, agrarians get the extra bonus – plus 5-8% of the market price by means of the agriproducts delivery to Ukravit in exchange of CPP and microfertilizers. This provides agrarians with the sure profit, sales rise and risks insurance.
Moreover, Ukravit has a general program with OTP-Bank – “Ukravit Finance”. In terms of the program, agrarians can obtain a credit upon a favorable terms – 0.01% annual for the 6 month – to buy the products of Ukravit.
- In conclusion, can You tell what activities Ukravit will hold for agrarians this summer? Where?
First of all it should be noted that on the 7-8 of June Ukravit launches “Crop Care Institute” – the Research and Development Institute in Cherkasy. In Ukraine it is the first science international research platform in agricultural sector that will provide the Ukrainian farmers with the possibility to build their business based on the scientific innovational approaches.
The institute will bring together several areas of work: the fundamental and industry studies, the agrobiological service and the academic work. The studies will be conducted based on the own laboratory facilities equipped by the best equipment. The elaborations will be tested by the unique demo-center – i.g. the system of the underground greenhouses, phytotrons and growth chambers. All of these give the opportunity to grow and explore the crops in vito all year round.
At the same time, the Institute is going to develop the environmental dimension. It will operate in the form of “Green chemistry”, which entails the decrease of the use of hazardous substances and emphasizes the pollution prevention at the initial stages of production.
Today the Institute operates in trial mode by providing the research and information service for agrarians, and integrates the global science society. In the near future, the Union of agriscientists of Ukraine will be created on the base of the Institute, which is going to bring together the scientists for the common projects and studies.
Moreover, during the summer Ukravit will hold the regional Days of Field in which the specialists of the company will show agrarians the complex protection and nutrition technologies for different crop types. The events will take place in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkov, Chernigov, Chernovtsy, Odessa, Ternopol, Summy, Kherson, Vynnytsa, Kiev, Lvov and Volyn oblasts.
