According to preliminary estimations, the current condition of winter crops areas and the plans for spring planting works, allow expecting for receiving of grain harvest in Russia in 2014 at the level of 95 mln tonnes, declared Andrei Volkov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on January 30.
The Deputy Minister also reminded that last year autumn the insufficient planting of winter crops in Russia totaled nearly 1 mln ha, due to rains, and the Ministry of Agriculture will recommend to increase the planted areas in the spring to compensate the lost areas.
