In 2014 agrarians of Ukraine may produce 62 mln tonnes of grains, which will enable the agricultural sector to maintain its leading position in filling the state budget and provide foreign currency inflows to the country, announced Sergei Arbuzov, Acting Prime Minister of Ukraine, on February 13.
He noted that despite the thaw, the general condition of winter crops was estimated as satisfactory. He expressed confidence that the weather conditions in the current winter will contribute to getting good yield indices.
While estimating the prospects for export of agricultural commodities, S.Arbuzov noted that in the current year Ukraine will expand the geography of its sales markets. In 2014 Ukraine will activate exports to Asian countries, in particular, to the markets of Japan, South Korea and China.
