Any presumptions about possible insufficient planting of grains in Ukraine during the spring planting campaign are unfounded, declared Igor Schwayka, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on April 2, 2014.

I.Schwayka stated that the spring crops field works are held in the normal mode and on schedule. The Minister informed that agrarians are provided with seeds and mineral fertilizers at the level of over 100% of the required volumes, and plant protecting agents – over 90%.

As for the planting campaign in the Crimea, the Minister mentioned that during several recent days there was no official statistics information about the peninsula. At the same time, the Ministry continues monitoring the situation in the Crimea, and knows that the planting campaign works continue here. Agrarians already planted spring grains and pulses throughout 60% of the planned areas.
