As of April 18, 2014 in Ukraine agrarians already planted early spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 2.546 mln ha, or 97% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to the data of the Ministry, in the same period of 2013 agrarians planted early spring grains and leguminous crops throughout 2.078 mln ha.
In particular, as of the reported date spring wheat planted areas reached 157 thsd ha (100%), barley – 1.94 mln ha (96%), oats – 248 thsd ha (97%), peas – 189 thsd ha (98%).
Ukrainian agrarians planted maize throughout 529 thsd ha (10%), sunflower seed – 1.36 mln ha (31%), soybeans – 61.6 thsd ha (4%).
