As of April 25, 2014, agrarians of Ukraine already planted spring grains and pulses (taking into account maize) throughout the areas of 4 mln ha, or 48% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, Ukraine planted early spring grains throughout 2.6 mln ha, maize – 1.426 mln ha (28%), buckwheat – 3 thsd ha (2%), millet – 8 thsd ha (7%).
Also, agrarians started planting rice. As of the reporting date, the planted areas reached 0.7 thsd ha from the planned level of 23 thsd ha.
At the same time, the sunflower seed planted areas reached 2.227 mln ha (51%), soybeans – 203 thsd ha (12%).
