As of May 13, 2014, agrarians of Ukraine already planted spring grains and pulses (taking into account maize) throughout the areas of 7.219 mln ha, or 87% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
At the same time, on the same date last year Ukraine planted grains and pulses throughout 7.7211 mln ha.
In particular, Ukraine planted maize throughout 4.436 mln ha (86%), buckwheat – 74 thsd ha (44%), millet – 56 thsd ha (46%), rice – 7 thsd ha (32%).
Also, sunflower seed planted areas reached 3.92 mln ha (91%), soybeans – 1.355 mln ha (82%).
