Russia: forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture at 100 mln tonnes is quite real – expert
The announced forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on grain harvest at the level of 100 mln tonnes is quite real, declared Vladimir Petrichenko, General Director of ProZerno LLC, on May 22.
According to him, the April forecast of grain production, excluding the Crimea, totaled 97.7 mln tonnes. Increasing of grain harvest volumes will be observed in the Southern region of Russia. As for the Volga region, there is possible some revision of the general harvest, due to favorable weather conditions, in particular precipitations were observed in all regions in April 2014. Also, the forecasts for the Ural and Siberian Federal Districts are optimistic, where agrarians realized planting works in the best agro-technical terms. The expert added that the updated forecast of ProZerno LLC will be presented in the nearest future.
