As of May 27, 2014, agrarians of Ukraine already planted spring grains and pulses (taking into account maize) throughout the areas of 7.66 mln ha, or 95% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
At the same time, on the same date last year Ukraine planted grains and pulses throughout 8.133 mln ha.
In particular, Ukraine planted maize throughout 4.74 mln ha (96%), buckwheat – 130 thsd ha (79%), millet – 90 thsd ha (81%), rice – 10 thsd ha (42%).
Also, sunflower seed planted areas reached 4.409 mln ha (97%), soybeans – 1.611 mln ha (96%).
