Russia planted spring grains throughout 30.9 mln ha

As of June 10, 2014, agrarians of Russia planted spring crops throughout the areas of 50 mln ha (93.8% of the forecast), an increase of 1.4 mln ha compared with the same date of 2013. In particular, the planted areas of spring grains totaled 30.9 mln ha (96.7% of the forecast), up 0.5 mln ha compared with the same index of June 10, 2013, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that agrarians planted spring wheat throughout the areas of 13 mln ha (99% of the forecast), up 0.4 mln ha compared with June 10, 2013; spring barley – 8.7 mln ha (99.2% of the forecast), up 0.3 mln ha; maize grain – 2.57 mln ha (99.3% of the forecast), up 241 thsd ha.

Also, Russian agrarians continued planting buckwheat and rice – 677 thsd ha (61.5% of the forecast), and 188 thsd ha (94.9% of the forecast), respectively.

Agrarians planted sunflower seed throughout 6.8 mln ha (95.5%), spring rapeseed - 943.9 thsd ha (86.5%), soybeans – 1.7 mln ha (100.2%).
