Russia harvested 6.7 mln tonnes of grains – Ministry of Agriculture

As of July 8, Russian agrarians harvested grain crops and pulses throughout 1.8 mln ha (in 2014 – 3.1 mln ha), or 3.8% of the planned areas. The produced volumes reached 6.7 mln tonnes (in 2014 – 10.9 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 3.77 t/ha (3.54 t/ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In particular, Russia harvested winter and spring wheat throughout the areas of 870.9 thsd ha or, 3.3% of the plan, and produced 3.3 mln tonnes of the grain, with the average yield of 3.74 t/ha.

Agrarians harvested 1.6 mln tonnes of spring and winter barley throughout 369.8 thsd ha, or 4.1% of the harvested areas. The average yield totaled 4.26 t/ha.

Also, the Chechen Republic, the Republics of Adygea and Crimea, Stavropol and Krasnodar Krais continued harvesting winter rapeseed. As of the reporting date, Russian agrarians harvested rapeseed throughout 51.6 thsd ha or 4.9% of the plan (in 2014 – 126.4 thsd ha), and produced 78.3 thsd tonnes of the oilseed (in 2014 – 209.4 thsd tonnes). The average yield totaled 1.52 t/ha (1.66 t/ha).
