Due to the deficit of modern harvesting machinery, every year Ukrainian agrarians lose more than 6 mln tonnes of grains, declared Oleksiy Pavlenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, at the meeting with representatives of the Kharkov Tractor Plant (XTZ) named after S.Ordzhonikidze.

According to the Minister, the whole available fleet of combine harvesters is engaged in the field works, its number reaches 50 thsd units. But it is rather small number for such significant agro-industrial country like Ukraine. Such fleet does not allow harvesting grains in optimum agro-technical terms (10 days). And taking into account the difficult weather conditions, the harvesting campaign takes 40-45 days.

According to O.Pavlenko, the value of lost harvest volumes reaches nearly 1 bln USD. So, Ukraine requires 75 thsd combine harvesters, in order to timely and efficiently realize the harvesting campaign. Each year, the Ukrainian agricultural sector needs 5-7 thsd combine harvesters.

Also, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy supports implementation of the Memorandum of cooperation between PJSC Kharkov Tractor Plant and Sampo-Rosenlew Ltd.
