In the current year, the average yield of wheat in Russia will fall by 8-10%, compared with the 2014 indicator (2.36 t/ha), forecasted analysts of Rusagrotrans CJSC, on July 23.

Decreasing the grain yield in the Volga District and Central Black Earth Region will mainly influence the reporting reduction of wheat yield in the country.

In the Volga and Central regions, where the share of wheat harvested areas has already reached 11% from the general areas in the country, the yield indices became significantly lower compared with last year. Therefore, at the end of the harvesting campaign there is expected some reduction of the general yield, due to influence of the reporting regions, the experts said.

Also, the first results of harvesting works in the Black Earth Region showed that the wheat yield indices in some raions may fall by 20-30% compared with the previous year. However, the reduction trends will be partly compensated by increasing of the planted areas under wheat by 5%.

Generally, the unexpectedly high yield indices in the southern regions, especially in Krasnodar Krai, will partially compensate the reporting reduction of Russian wheat yield throughout the country, the analyst added.
