According to the updated information, as of August 31, Russian agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2016 throughout the areas of 2.9 mln ha, or 16.7% of the plan (in 2014 — 2.5 mln ha), announced the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

Also, agrarians harvested grain crops and pulses throughout 26.7 mln ha (in 2014 – 26.6 mln ha), or 56.8% of the planned areas. The produced volumes reached 71.1 mln tonnes in bunker weight (in 2014 – 75.3 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 2.67 t/ha (2.83 t/ha).

In particular, Russia harvested winter and spring wheat throughout the areas of 16.2 mln ha, or 60.1% of the plan, and produced 48.7 mln tonnes of the grain, with the average yield of 3.01 t/ha.

Agrarians harvested 14.2 mln tonnes of winter and spring barley throughout 6 mln ha, or 67% of the harvested areas. The average yield totaled 2.38 t/ha.

Also, agrarians started harvesting corn, which planted areas reached 69.1 thsd ha (2.5% of the plan). The production volumes totaled 330.2 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 4.78 t/ha.

Agrarians harvested sunflower seed throughout 102.7 thsd ha, or 1.5% of the planned areas, and produced 203.7 thsd tonnes of the oilseed, with the yield of 1.98 t/ha.

As of the reporting date, Russian agrarians harvested rapeseed throughout 268.7 thsd ha or 25.9% of the plan, and produced 474.9 thsd tonnes of the oilseed. The average yield totaled 1.77 t/ha.

Agrarians harvested 171.1 thsd tonnes of soybeans throughout 99.9 thsd ha, or 4.9% of the planted areas, with the yield of 1.71 t/ha.

Russia harvested flaxseed throughout 19 thsd ha, or 34.1% of the planned areas.
