According to operative data as of October 15, Russia harvested more than 11 mln tonnes of oilseeds in bunker weight, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In particular, agrarians harvested sunflower seed throughout 76.7% of the planned areas, and produced 8 mln tonnes of the oilseed (in 2014 - 7.3 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 1.54 t/ha (in 2014 – 1.46 t/ha).

Agrarians harvested more than 1 mln tonnes of rapeseed (in 2014 - 1.4 mln tonnes) throughout 79.7% of the planned areas, with the average yield of 1.29 t/ha (in 2014 – 1.45 t/ha).

Also, Russia harvested soybeans throughout 55% of the areas, and produced 1.7 mln tonnes of the oilseed (in 2014 - 1.7 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 1.52 t/ha (in 2014 – 1.35 t/ha).

According to the announcement, to date Russian agrarians continue harvesting sunflower seed and rapeseed in the Volga, Ural and Siberian Federal Districts, soybeans - in the Far Eastern Federal District.

Agrarians almost completed harvesting flaxseed, mustard seed, camelina seed. The general produced volumes of alternative oilseeds reached over 700 thsd tonnes, including over 500 thsd tonnes of flaxseed, over 100 thsd tonnes of camelina seed, and 100 thsd tonnes of mustard seed.

Also, the Ministry reminded that the general harvest of oilseeds in the current marketing year will reach 14 mln tonnes (in 2014 - 13.8 mln tonnes). The forecasted oilseed production will cover the needs of the population in vegetable oils at the level of 2 mln tonnes, and the export potential at nearly 2.4 mln tonnes.
