The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine increased its forecast of the general harvest of grain crops in the current MY to 59.526 mln tonnes, the exports – to 36.625 mln tonnes, declared the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy, Volodymyr Lapa on October 16 at the Ukrainian Agrarian Congress.
In particular, the harvest volumes of wheat will reach 26.405 mln tonnes, barley - 8.316 mln tonnes, corn - 22.897 mln tonnes, rye - 386 thsd tonnes, and other grains 1.581 mln tonnes, he informed.
According to V.Lapa, the domestic consumption of Ukraine requires 24.041 mln tonnes of grains. At the end of MY the carry-over stocks of grains are expected to reach 10.286 mln tonnes, and the imports - 372 thsd tonnes. At the end of 2015/16 MY, the ending stocks will total 9.577 mln tonnes.
As a reminder, on October 1 the Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasted the general grain harvest in 2015/16 MY at the level of 58.5 mln tonnes.
