As of December 18, sprouts of winter grains in Ukraine appeared throughout the areas of 6.1 mln ha, or 86% of the planted areas, informed the press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on December 4.
According to the announcement, as of the reporting date 67% of the sprouted areas were in good and satisfactory condition (4.1 mln ha), and 33% - in poor and thinned condition (2 mln ha). The losses totaled 80 thsd ha.
At the same time, the sprouts of winter crops still did not appear throughout 14% of the areas (nearly 1 mln ha) mainly in Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava and Kharkiv oblasts.
In addition, the sprouts of winter rapeseed appeared throughout 571.6 thsd ha (87%), including 389.9 thsd ha in good and satisfactory condition (68.2%), 177.8 thsd ha in weak and thinned condition (31.1%), and 3.9 thsd ha of losses (0.7%). The oilseed sprouts did not grow throughout 13% of the area (83.5 thsd ha), especially in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Mykolaiv and Poltava oblasts.
