As of February 29, agrarians of four regions of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts started planting spring crops. Thus, the regions planted spring crops throughout 52.5 thsd ha, or 0.1% of the planned areas, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
In particular, Krasnodar Krai planted spring crops throughout 29.8 thsd ha (0.5% of the planned areas), Stavropol Krai – 18.9 thsd ha (2%), Chechen Republic - 3.6 thsd ha (3.2%), Kabardino-Balkar Republic - 0.2 thsd ha (0.1%).
Also, Russian agrarians provided additional fertilizing works throughout 2.4 mln ha from the planned areas of 16.4 mln ha (14.5% of the planted areas), including: Krasnodar Krai – 1.4 mln ha, Rostov oblast – 612.7 thsd ha, the Republic of Adygea – 82.4 thsd ha, Stavropol Krai – 252.5 thsd ha, Kabardino-Balkar Republic – 18.5 thsd ha, Chechen Republic – 9.6 thsd ha, and Republic of North Ossetia-Alania – 1.3 thsd ha.
