As of March 9, agrarians of Russia planted spring crops throughout 439.8 thsd ha, or 0.8% of the planned areas (52.6 mln ha), which significantly exceeded the same date results last year (116.5thsd ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
In particular, the Southern Federal District planted spring crops throughout 183 thsd ha (in 2015 – 72.9 thsd ha), the North Caucasian District – 160 thsd ha (16.4 thsd ha), and the Crimean District – 96.8 thsd ha (27.2 thsd ha). The indicators of crop planted areas in the reporting regions reached 2.9%, 8.9% and 38.9% of the plan, respectively.
Also, Russian agrarians provided additional fertilizing works throughout 4.2 mln ha from the planned areas of 16.4 mln ha (25.7% of the planted areas).
