As of March 10, agrarians of Russia planted spring crops throughout 465.4 thsd ha, or 0.9% of the planned areas (52.6 mln ha), which significantly exceeded the same date results last year (116.5 thsd ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
In particular, the Southern Federal District planted spring crops throughout 183.1 thsd ha (in 2015 – 72.9 thsd ha), the North Caucasian District – 176.3 thsd ha (16.4 thsd ha), and the Crimean District – 106 thsd ha (27.2 thsd ha). The indicators of crop planted areas in the reporting regions reached 2.9%, 9.8% and 42.6% of the plan, respectively.
Also, Russian agrarians provided additional fertilizing works throughout 4.3 mln ha from the planted areas of winter crops at 16.4 mln ha (or 26.3%).
