As of March 25, all oblasts of Ukraine started the planting campaign of early spring grains. Agrarians planted grains throughout the areas of 961.4 thsd ha, or 38% of the plan. On the same date last year, the index totaled 882 thsd ha, or 36%, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, agrarians planted spring barley throughout the areas of 743.1 thsd ha (38%), peas — 110.6 thsd ha (60%), spring wheat — 59.7 thsd ha (35%), and oats — 47.6 thsd ha (22%).
Also, agrarians provided additional fertilizing works of winter grain crops throughout 6.18 mln ha, or 90% of the forecast (in 2015 — 6.53 mln ha), winter rapeseed — 463.2 thsd ha, or 82% (710 thsd ha).
