The planted areas under agricultural crops for the harvest-2016 in Russia will increase by 600 thsd ha compared with the previous year, and total 79.6 mln ha, declared the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev on March 29.
In particular, in the current year the planted areas of corn will increase by 7% - to nearly 3 mln ha, soybeans - up 10%, to 2.2 mln ha, pulses - up 6%, to 1.7 mln ha, buckwheat - up 4%, to 1 mln ha.
As for the forecasted grain harvest in 2016, A.Tkachev said that in terms of favorable weather conditions, the production volumes will reach at least 104 mln tonnes in clean weight.
