Agrarians of 11 oblasts of Ukraine started the planting campaign of soybeans. As of April 11, the planted areas reached 19.7 thsd ha. The planned areas under soybeans total nearly 2.07 mln ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Generally, as of the reporting date agrarians planted early spring grains throughout the areas of 2.044 mln ha, or 82% of the plan, an increase of 271 thsd ha compared with the same date last year.
In particular, agrarians planted spring barley throughout the areas of 1.523 mln ha (79%), peas — 195 thsd ha (101%), spring wheat — 143 thsd ha (83%), and oats — 182 thsd ha (84%).
Ukraine planted sunflower seed throughout 611 thsd ha (12%), corn for grain – 148.9 thsd ha (3%).
Also, agrarians provided additional fertilizing works of winter grain crops throughout 6.73 mln ha, or 97% of the forecast (in 2015 — 6.94 mln ha), winter rapeseed — 483 thsd ha, or 89% (731 thsd ha).
