As of May 4, Ukrainian agrarians planted spring crops (including corn) throughout the areas of 5.6 mln ha, or 76% of the forecast, an increase of 900 thsd ha compared with the same date last year. In particular, the planted areas of early spring grains totaled 2.4 mln ha, or 99% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

So, agrarians planted spring barley throughout the areas of 1.8 mln ha (99%), peas — 225 thsd ha (101%), spring wheat — 164 thsd ha (100%), and oats — 211 thsd ha (99%).

Also, Ukraine planted sunflower seed throughout 3.6 mln ha (69%), soybeans – 881 thsd ha (43%), corn for grain – 3.1 mln ha (68%), buckwheat – 26 thsd ha (20%), millet – 24 thsd ha (20%), and rice – 7 thsd ha (60%).
