As of May 11, 2016, Belarusian agricultural organizations provided the planting campaign of early spring grains and pulses (without corn, buckwheat and millet) throughout the areas of 939.5 thsd ha or 99.4% of the plan. But on the same date last year, agrarians planted grains throughout 968.4 thsd ha (101%), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus.
The general planted areas of spring crops reached 2.168 mln ha, including pulses – 197.4 thsd ha (56.5%)
In addition, agrarians planted flaxseed throughout 44.3 thsd ha (80.5%), spring rapeseed – 107.3 thsd ha (154.4%), and corn for grain – 154.8 thsd ha (98.3%).
