As of May 13, Ukrainian agrarians planted spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 6.55 mln ha, or 89% of the forecast, an increase of 0.73 mln ha compared with the same date last year, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 3.93 mln ha (87%), buckwheat – 70 thsd ha (54%), millet – 43 thsd ha (35%), rice – 9 thsd ha (80%), and sorghum – 27 thsd ha (33%).
Also, Ukraine planted sunflower seed throughout 4.42 mln ha (85%), soybeans – 1.46 mln ha (71%).
