Russia: grain harvest to exceed the indices of previous two years – Rusagrotrans

In the current year, the general grain harvest in Russia will exceed the level of 105 mln tonnes, declared the Deputy Director of the strategic management department of Rusagrotrans CJSC, Igor Pavensky on May 17.

According to the analysis of agricultural crops wintering period and spring vegetation, as well as the dynamics of spring planting campaign, and the expected weather conditions in the summer, Rusagrotrans increased the forecast for grain production in the country to 105.6 mln tonnes, against the previously expected index of 103 mln tonnes, explained the analyst.

Thus, in terms of the absence of any "unforeseen troubles", the general harvest of grains in Russia will exceed the indices of 2014 (105.3 mln tonnes) and 2015 (104.8 mln tonnes).

In particular, in 2016 the wheat harvest will reach 62 mln tonnes, barley - 17.6 mln tonnes, and corn - 13.7 mln tonnes.
