During several recent seasons, Kazakhstan demonstrated significant differences in the grain harvest volumes per year. However, even in bad harvest years grain production volumes were enough to completely meet the country's domestic and export requirements, declared the Director of the Grain Processors and Bakers Union of Kazakhstan, Evgeny Gan at the second international conference "Grain Processors Forum: Market & Technologies - 2016" on September 22, in Odessa.

Also, he informed said that previously wheat covered most planted areas under grain crops in the country, but since 2010 the Government started somewhat diversifying the planted areas.

Wheat planted areas in Kazakhstan decreased from 14.8 mln ha in 2010, to 12.2 mln ha in 2015. At the same time, the country significantly increased the planted area under oilseeds, added E.Gan.
