There is no any deficit of grains for production of baker's grade flour in Russia, declared the President of the Russian Grain Union, Arkady Zlochevsky on October 26 in Moscow.

A.Zlochevsky accepted that in the current year the qualitative indices of Russian grains will be lower compared with last year, but some decline of the share of milling grains in the large-scale harvest is quite natural.

According to his forecast, in the current year Russia will produce 72.5 mln tonnes of wheat, including 18 mln tonnes of 3-grade wheat, over 32 mln tonnes of 4-grade wheat, and 22-23 mln tonnes of feed wheat (5-grade wheat). At the same time, the maximum demand for 3-grade wheat will reach 8 mln tonnes.

The whole domestic demand from milling enterprises is limited with 18 mln tonnes of grain, which is required to produce 16 mln tonnes of flour for baking needs. At the same time, flour millers never processed 3-grade wheat only, due to objective causes, which intensified in the current season because of the rising gradation of the grain quality and its prices, said A.Zlochevsky. The existing grain reserves in the country are quite ample to meet all possible demands, despite some decline of qualitative parameters.
