As of March 22, Ukrainian agrarians planted early spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 471 thsd ha, or 20% of the forecast, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, agrarians planted spring wheat throughout 12 thsd ha (6%), peas — 122 thsd ha (44%), spring barley — 321 thsd ha (19%), and oats — 16 thsd ha (8%).
Sprouts of winter crops for the harvest-2017 appeared throughout 7 mln ha (from 7.2 mln ha of the planted areas), including 5.8 mln ha (83%) with good and satisfactory condition, and 1.2 mln ha (17%) - weak and thinned condition.
Also, winter rapeseed sprouts appeared throughout 878 thsd ha (from 899 thsd ha of the planted areas), including 702 thsd ha (80%) with good and satisfactory condition, and 171 thsd mln ha (19.5%) - weak and thinned condition.
