As of April 3, Russian agrarians planted spring crops throughout the areas of 1.1 mln ha, or 2.1% of the forecast. In particular, the planted areas under spring grains totaled 760.7 thsd ha (2.5%), reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, noting that the current planting rates are similar to the last year ones.

So, the Southern Federal District planted spring crops throughout 742.7 thsd ha, or 12%, the North Caucasian District – 251.6 thsd ha, or 14%, the Central District – 101.8 thsd ha, or 1.1%, and the Far Eastern District – 8.6 thsd ha, or 0.5%. Also, agrarians of Kaliningrad oblast started planting spring crops, and as of April 3 the planted areas reached 0.2 thsd ha.

As of the reporting date, the Chechen and Kabardino-Balkar Republics planted sunflower seed  throughout 2.6 thsd ha and 1.4 thsd ha, or 26% and 6.5% of the planned areas in the region, respectively.

At the same time, the specified regions as well as the Volga and Northwestern Federal Districts, provided additional fertilizing of winter crop areas. As of April 3, they realized the field works throughout 8.2 mln ha (47.5% of the planted areas).
