The International Grains Council (IGC) updated its forecast of grain production in Kazakhstan in 2017/18 MY to 20.5 mln tonnes.
According to the announcement, in terms of the beginning stocks of grains at 3.6 mln tonnes, and the imports - 0.1 mln tonnes, the production volumes will reach 16.7 mln tonnes. The domestic consumption for food, forage and technical purposes will total 9.9 mln tonnes, the exports - 7.4 mln tonnes, and the ending stocks - 3.2 mln tonnes.
As for the current season, IGC significantly reduced the forecast of grain production, the supply and demand balances, the exports and ending stocks, but increased the domestic consumption through increasing of grain consumption for forage purposes.
