Russia: Ministry of Agriculture reduced the forecast of grain harvest in 2017

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia reduced the forecast of grain harvest volumes in 2017 to 100-105 mln tonnes, declared the Minister of Agriculture, Alexander Tkachev on June 1.

According to him, the harvest will not be less than 100 mln tonnes. The figures declined due to worsening of the weather conditions throughout almost whole territory of Russia in the second half of the spring.

As a reminder, previously the Ministry forecasted grain production at 110 mln tonnes.

As for estimations of grain exports in 2016/17 MY, A.Tkachev announced the figures within 34-35 mln tonnes. But in the new season, the exports will grow to 37-38 mln tonnes.
