As of June 1, Russian agrarians planted spring crops throughout the areas of 46.2 mln ha, or 87.7% of the forecast. In particular, the planted areas under spring grains totaled 28.3 mln ha (91.2%). But on the same date last year, the planted areas under spring crops totaled 47.2 mln ha, including spring grains - 29.4 mln ha, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
As of the reporting date, the planted areas under spring wheat reached 12.3 mln ha, or 90.8% of the forecast (in 2016 - 13.3 mln ha). Spring barley areas totaled 7 mln ha, or 90.6% of the forecast (in 2016 - 7.6 mln ha). Corn for grain areas totaled 2.9 mln ha, or 93.1% (in 2016 - 2.6 mln ha), and rice - 167.1 thsd ha, or 79.1% (in 2016 - 188.8 thsd ha).
Also, agrarians planted sunflower seed throughout 6.9 mln ha, or 96.4% (last year - 6.4 mln ha), spring rapeseed - 815.4 thsd ha, or 92.7% (in 2016 - 824.7 thsd ha), soybeans - 2 mln ha, or 89.2% (in 2016 - 1.5 mln ha), and flaxseed - 33.6 thsd ha, or 67.3%.
