As of June 13, Russian agrarians planted spring crops throughout the areas of 50.4 mln ha, or 95.7% of the forecast. In particular, the planted areas under spring grains totaled 30.6 mln ha (98.7%). But on the same date last year, the planted areas under spring crops totaled 50.4 mln ha, including spring grains - 30.7 mln ha, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
As of the reporting date, the planted areas under spring wheat reached 13 mln ha, or 96.2% of the forecast (in 2016 - 13.5 mln ha). Spring barley areas totaled 7.4 mln ha, or 96.2% of the forecast (in 2016 - 7.8 mln ha). Corn for grain areas totaled 2.9 mln ha, or 95.7% (in 2016 - 2.8 mln ha), rice - 179.4 thsd ha, or 85.1% (in 2016 - 200.4 thsd ha), and buckwheat - 1.4 mln ha, or 130.3% (in 2016 - 994.7 thsd ha).
Also, agrarians planted sunflower seed throughout 7.4 mln ha, or 103% (last year - 7 mln ha), spring rapeseed - 859.9 thsd ha, or 97.7% (in 2016 - 865.6 thsd ha), soybeans - 2.3 mln ha, or 102.7% (in 2016 - 1.8 mln ha), and flaxseed - 39.3 thsd ha, or 82%.
