Relative instability of the agrometeorological conditions in Ukraine during the period of crops vegetation in 2017 caused some decline of the forecast of APK-Inform analysts for the production of grains and pulses in the country in 2017/18 MY, to 60.8 mln tonnes, a decrease of 8% compared with the record figures last season.

Reduction of winter crops areas (winter wheat - down 1%, winter barley - down 16%), and the expected decline in yield figures for almost all crops, due to the weather factors, became the main reasons for the reporting decline. In particular, in 2017 the average yield indices of wheat and barley will decrease by 6%, to 3.96 t/ha and 3.1t/ha respectively, and the yield of corn will fall by 8%, to 6.06 t/ha. The general yield of grains and pulses will decline by 4% compared with the last year record (4.61 t/ha), noted the grain market analyst at APK-Inform Agency, Andrei Kupchenko.
