In 2017, the general harvest of grain crops in Russia will total nearly 115-118 mln tonnes, and in terms of favourable weather conditions, the figures will even exceed the last season record level of last year, declared the President at Russian Grain Union (RGU), Arkadiy Zlochevskiy on July 18.

According to him, if the weather conditions in the autumn are favourable, the harvest volumes may increase, and even break the last year record. To date, the weather conditions contribute to development of high-quality grains in Siberia, which will even exceed the figures in the European part of Russia, where the harvest volumes will be large, but the qualitative indices will not be very high.

Generally, the production volumes will vary at the level of 2016, but the qualitative indices of new crop grains can be higher, added A.Zlochevskiy.

Also, in 2017/18 MY Russia will possibly demonstrate record figures of grain exports. According to him, last season Russia failed to complete the planned export volumes. And nearly 5 mln tonnes moved into carry-over stocks, which are at very high level to date, 20-20.5 mln tonnes.
