USDA increased the forecast of wheat production in Ukraine in 2017

In August 2017, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) increased the forecast of grain crops production in Ukraine in 2017 by 3.9 mln tonnes compared with the July forecast, to 64.99 mln tonnes, reported the Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) August 11.

According to the announcement, the forecast for the harvest of forage crops increased from 37.09 mln tonnes to 38.49 mln tonnes (corn volumes remained unchanged at 28.5 mln tonnes), wheat - from 24 mln tonnes to 26.5 mln tonnes.

The USDA increased the forecast of grain exports from Ukraine in 2017/18 MY by 10% compared with the July forecast, to 42.11 mln tonnes. In particular, the exports for wheat will increase by 2 mln tonnes to 16 mln tonnes, forage grains - up 1.8 mln tonnes, to 26.11 mln tonnes, including 21.5 mln tonnes of corn.

At the same time, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine forecasted the harvest of grains in Ukraine in 2017 at 60.2-63 mln tonnes.
