Akmola and Kostanay oblasts of the Republic of Kazakhstan started the mass harvesting campaign of spring grains, reported the Ministry of Agriculture on August 28.
As of the reporting date, Akmola oblast harvested grains throughout the areas of 370.9 thsd ha (8.6% of the plan), and Kostanay oblast - 120 thsd ha (2.9%). The harvest volumes reached 326 thsd tonnes and 117.6 thsd tonnes, with the average yield figures at 0.88 t/ha and 0.98 t/ha, respectively.
We should note that the reporting oblasts are the largest grain planting regions in Kazakhstan: in 2017, the harvested areas under grains in Akmola oblast will reach 4.324 mln ha, and in Kostanay oblast - 4.192 mln ha.
