Ukraine: intervention fund purchased 900 thsd tonnes of grains of the harvest-2013 – N.Prysyazhnyuk
The intervention fund of Ukraine received 900 thsd tonnes of grains of the harvest-2013 for provision of the security of the country, declared Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on December 11.
At the same time, he reported that in the current year Ukraine harvested more than 63 mln tonnes of grains, which became the record during the years of independence of the country. In particular, the production volumes of maize totaled 29 mln tonnes, wheat - 22 mln tonnes. In addition, agrarians harvested 10 mln tonnes of sunflower seed and 11 mln tonnes of sugar beet.
